LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Qaira on Friday agreed to ECP’s decision to position
army in and outside polling stations during general elections 2018.
Both leaders agreed to the decision made by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to position the
army for action, both in and outside of the polling stations all over Pakis
tan, on election day, July 25.
There were different reactions to this very decision. PPP leader, Qamar Zia Kaira said any comments over it would be shared after elections, while Rana Sanaullah talked about the
army being reliable and trustworthy, and showed full support of ECP’s decision.

Regarding details of this deployment, the director general of ECP’s media c
ell, talked about how at 20,000 polling stations, closed-circuit television cameras would be installed, along with the most vulnerable polling stations having three or four CCTV cameras put in as well.
