A 60-day special remission in sentences will be given to the convicted prisoners with regard to Eid Milad-un-Nabi. This was decided in a meeting which held at Civil Secretariat with Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Capt. (R) Fazeel Asghar. Special Home Secretary Tariq Mehmood Javed, Additional Home Secretary Mohsin Rasheed, Deputy Secretary (General) Capt. (R) Malik Shahbaz and others attended the meeting. ACS (Home) said that this remission has been given on the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The meeting was told that notification has been issued and a total of 270 prisoners will be benefitted. Seven prisoners were immediately released from the jails, the meeting was told. The prisoners involved in different categories of crime including terrorism, murder, espionage, offences against human body, kidnapping and abduction, dacoity and robbery, Zina and narcotics smuggling will not get benefit from this remission. ACS (Home) Fazeel Asghar congratulated the prisoners getting benefit of this remission and hoped that they will live a law abiding way of life in future.
