ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Friday that Imran Khan had lost his senses after seeing the popularity of Nawaz Sharif.
“The person in whose public rally he was delivering his address has been disqualified on the basis of corruption and money laundering. Whereas Nawaz was sent home merely on the allegations of holding an Iqama,” she said while talking to reporters.
“How can a person who derides hereditary politics address the election rally of Jahangir Tareen’s son without feeling any shame or grain of scruples? The people feeling jealous of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif cannot even spend 60% of the development budget of the province. Is it also a conspiracy of Nawaz Sharif?” she asked. The minister said that before criticising Shehbaz Sharif, Imran Khan should build a matching infrastructure in KP, establish the same kind of health and education systems, set up a similar forensic laboratory and build a road network like the one that existed in Punjab. She said that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif had carried out development projects in KP which actually should have been undertaken by the PTI government. “Imran still does not feel any shame and embarrassment,” she said. Marriyum said that a person who was generating electricity through MOUs and building metro bus project by drawing up only a feasibility report was criticising Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz casting away the sense of modesty and shame.
